Playing in the U16 Girls division of the Atlanta Challenger Cup, the FFC Thunder 98 came out of the weekend as tournament champions.

Losing their first game 1-2 to the CFC Lady Chiefs Blue 98, Thunder recovered to beat VRSA Attack 98 6-1 in their second game of the day. Day 2 started with another victory, this time a 5-1 win over Tophat 16 White. This was enough to put them into the final - a rematch with the Lady Chiefs.

The Championship game was very exciting as FFC and the Chiefs went to overtime tied at 2. FFC took the opening kickoff of overtime and great passing through the Chief defense put Crystal Barbee in position to score the game winning goal and secure the championship.

The tournament capped an excellent season in which the U16 Girls team finished 3rd in the Athena C division.
