Registration Procedure - Fall Season, 2008

Online registration for Fall 2008 will be available from
May 3rd, 2008 to July 27th, 2008

This is the preferred way to go and is more convenient, accurate and efficient

There will be a $5.00 discount for PAID Online Registrations between May 3rd and May 10th!

The following MUST be include with a mailed form:
  • A check for the appropriate amount made to FCYSL
  • A copy of the player's birth certificates if he/she is new to the league

WALK IN REGISTRATION
Walk in registration will be held at the McCurry North Soccer Complex located at the intersection of Ga. Hwy 54 and McDonough Rd.:

Saturday, July 19th, 2008 • 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Saturday, July 26th, 2008 • 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

AGE
A player must be registered with his/her respective age group as set by the Georgia Youth Soccer Association rules and regulations. The minimum age is 4 years old by July 31, 2008. Players will be allowed to play up under the following circumstances:

(a) If a player has an August birth date. If requested by parents/guardian the player may play up with Age Group Coordinator approval and availability of a position on a team. If at the time of registration this cannot be confirmed, parents will be notified at a later date.
(b) If a player has exceptional skills. During the preceding season the parents/guardians must make a written request to the age group coordinator. The Age Group Coordinator must then observe the player in a game and make a recommendation to the FCYSL Board. The player may play up with board approval and availability of a position on a team. If at the time of registration this cannot be confirmed, parents will be notified at a later date.
(c)

Players will be assigned to age appropriate teams unless a request for the player to play an age up is made in writing to the age group coordinator prior to the coach’s draft. The player must be evaluated by the age group coordinator and recommended by the previous season’s coach. A determination will be made by the age group coordinator, registrar and league Board of Directors. It will also depend on the space available in requested age group.
(d) A player has to be registered by the registration deadline in order to be eligible for the draft proceedings.

Uniform Cost for U8 – U19 is $35.00 for those who do not have an approved FCYSL uniform. The U6 fee includes a uniform shirt.

U5/U6 uniforms will be a colored t-shirt and will be distributed by the coach before the first game.

Players need to go to T&G for sizing and ordering of uniforms.
Payment is expected at time of ordering.
Uniforms are $35.00 plus tax and consist of 2 jerseys, 2 pair of shorts and 2 pair of socks.

There will be NO Family Discounts.

Above fees are paid to FCYSL for the season in question.

A $25.00 fee will be assessed for returned checks.
LATE REGISTRATION
Late fees of $25.00 per player will be assessed during late registration.

If there are any openings after the last scheduled registration date, a late registration session may be scheduled and openings filled on a first come first served basis. After that session is completed the Registrar will maintain a waiting list for each age group. Any additional late registrations will be coordinated between the Registrar and Age Group Coordinators only.
TEAM ASSIGNMENTS
Team assignments are made in the form of a draft system. Each season a list of available players is given to each coach. Each COACH then selects available players to their respective teams from that list.
  • Requests to carpool with another player or with children of coaches are NOT honored.
  • Requests to avoid certain practice days are NOT honored.
  • Request to play with certain players or a certain coach are NOT honored
  • Requests to play with a sibling in the same age group and gender will be considered.
REFUNDS
All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the Registrar at P.O. Box 721, Fayetteville, GA 30214. A full refund will be given to a player who decides to withdraw before July 27th, 2008. After this date NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.

There will be NO refunds for uniforms.

All requests for refunds will be held by the Registrar until after the first game of the season. The Registrar will give all refund requests to the Treasurer during the second week of the season. The Treasurer will issue all refunds within 30 days of receipt.
PRACTICES and GAMES
Practice for the Fall 2008 season starts the week of August 18th. The first game will be September 6th and the season should end around November 15th.

A team will normally have one or two practice sessions per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays. Games are on Saturdays though an occasional Sunday afternoon game is also possible.
VOLUNTEERS
FCYSL depends on your participation. 99% of FCYSL consists solely of volunteers. Without these volunteers, children may be turned away, which could include your child. We are especially in need of coaches, co-coaches, and assistant coaches. With FCYSL training, guidance and support, coaching a FCYSL team is NOT beyond your abilities. Remember, without you, our volunteer, there is not FCYSL. If you would like to volunteer for these and possible other positions please contact us at fcysladm@bellsouth.net.
