Information for New Referees
The Entry Class for R9 is designed for persons under 15 years of age. It has two parts, an online session and a classroom/field session that focuses on how to officiate. Both sessions are required.
The Entry Class for R8 is designed for persons 15 years of age and older as of the date of the class. It is for new referees and upgrading R9s. It has two parts, an online session and a classroom/field session that focuses on how to officiate. Both sessions are required. The online session must be done first and can be done at any time. Allow 2 - 6 hours to complete.
The 2017 Recertification course has four parts: A review of the Laws of the Game video presentations, highlights of the 2016-2017 Laws of the Game changes, and the Grade 8 test are all online. The online work must be completed before attending the classroom session.
